Notes for Joseph Luther PENTECOST

The private graveside service for Dr. Joseph L. Pentecost of
Marietta, a professor of materials engineering at Georgia Tech and a
consultant, will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Winder, Georgia.
Dr. Pentecost died Saturday at Hennepin County Medical Ceneter in
Minneapolis, Minn., after suffering a heart attack while attending the
annual convention of the American Ceramic Society.
Joseph Luther Pentecost, was born April 23, 1930, in Winder,
Georgia. He graduated from Georgia Tech in 1951; served as an officer in
the Marine Corps; and recieved a master's degree and a doctorate from the
University of Illinois.
Surviving are his wife, Maxene Meyer Pentecost; four sons by a
previous marriage, David E. Pentecost of New York City, Steven J.
Pentecost of Fair Haven, N.J., Richard J. Pentecost of Amissville, Va.,
and Brian A. Pentecost of Cinncinati, Ohio; a daughter by a previous
marriage, Madge A. Pentecost of Marietta; a sister, Dicksie Mitchell of
Tampa, Fla. and five grandchildren.
